Ho West Dce And Disec Holds 2nd Diplomatic Meeting With Togolese Counterpart On Covid 19

The Ho West District Chief Executive, Hon Ernest Victor Apau and Security Officers on 7th April, 2020 held the second meeting with the Togolese authorities to review Trans border operations and protocols in fighting against Covid 19. There were experience sharing and setting of new strategies for effective monitoring of the borders. Both parties promised to remain faithful to agreements made in the collective interest within standards of best practice.

Meanwhile, this is the second diplomatic meeting held between the two counterparts this years with the 1st on 25th January, 2020. Between 2017-19, the DCE has held five (5) official meetings with the Kloto Prefe on economic, social and conflict issues among some communities from both sides. Hon Apau indicated that the Covid 19 fight is a protocol based engagement and all are advised to cooperate with the ground rules.

Let us avoid all temptations that aim at creating fear and unnecessary anxiety, he added. He stated that the Assembly has also taken notice of numerous anonymous social media publications that sought to paint otherwise bad picture contrary to the excellent work been done by the Assembly under his able leadership. They urged all genuine minded persons to indicate their identities in their reportage for feedback. Present was the Prefe Assan of Kloto in Togo with his team of Security Officers.

The Ho West Assembly was established by the Legislative Instrument (LI) 2083 of 2012. It is the highest political and administrative authority in the District. The population of the District stood at 94,600 as shown in Table1 (2010 Population and Housing Census).
