As part of the Government of Ghana’s effort to curb the spread of corona virus there was a nationwide disinfection exercise organized in the whole country to contain and prevent the spread, the Ho West District Assembly undertook their disinfection exercise on Saturday 4th April, 2020 at the various markets centres in the district.
At exactly 6:10 am, the District Chief Executive, Hon Ernest Victor Apau inspected and addressed the spraying team to officially commence the fumigation exercise. The team made of spraying gang, Environmental Health and Sanitation officers, Ghana Police Service, Zoomlion, NADMO, ISD etc gathered at the forecourt of the District Assembly. The exercise covered Kpedze Market and Lorry Park, Kpedze clinic, DCE Residence, Abutia Kissifli Market, Dededo Market, Honuta Border, Tsito Market and Anyirawase taxi rank.
The District Chief Executive who supervised the exercise at Kpedze expressed satisfaction with the level of success and also commended the communities that the exercise took place for complying with the directives to disinfect all markets in the district against corona virus pandemic. Hon Apau cautioned those writing panic messages and spreading it on social media to desist from it and added that sharing false information would rather make the fight against the corona virus pandemic more difficult. He urged all stakeholders to remain united and work together to fight the pandemic.

The Ho West Assembly was established by the Legislative Instrument (LI) 2083 of 2012. It is the highest political and administrative authority in the District. The population of the District stood at 94,600 as shown in Table1 (2010 Population and Housing Census).
