Staff Of Ho West Educated On Corona Virus

In order to ensure that workers and clients are protected from the deadly corona virus, the Ho West District Assembly organized staff meeting on 18th March, 2020 to educate them on the preventive measures to undertake to avoid infection.

The District Environmental Health and Sanitation Officer, Mrs Stella Kumadzro indicated that the spread of corona virus has triggered a global health scare and therefore urged staff to take care of their health and that of their families by adhering to the following precautionary measures:

  1. Regular and thorough washing of hands with soap under running water or sue of alcohol based hand sanitizer.
  2. Avoid touching your mouth, eyes, nose (MEN) with unwashed hands in order to avoid transmitting the virus from hand to the face.
  3. Keep a distance of at least two meters between you and anyone coughing or sneezing.
  4. Cover your mouth and nose with tissue or with inside your elbow.
  5. Avoid shaking of hands.
  6. Routinely clean frequently touched surfaces.
  7. Stay home if you feel unwell with symptoms of fever, cough and difficulty in breathing.
  8. Drink plenty of water and also take enough fruits that are high in vitamin c.

The Human Resource Officer, Mr. Bismark Von Golloh indicated that staff should not used corona virus as an opportunity to absent themselves from work but rather urged them to take their annual leave.

On his part, the District Chief Executive, Hon Victor Ernest Apau reiterated government effort in combating corona virus in the country. He described the situation as very serious and called on all to adhere to the safety protocols.
