The Ho West District Chief Executive, Hon Victor Ernest Apau has distributed 150 locally produced nose masks on Thursday 14th May, 2020 at the Vane Market. The distribution exercise was in line with the compulsory nose masks wearing directives by the President.
The Ho West District Chief Executive advised the market women to adhere to the social distancing protocol, performing frequent hand hygiene with soap under running water or use of alcohol based hand sanitizer and mandatory wearing of face mask to public places in order to protect themselves from contracting corona virus. He added that any trader who would refuse to wear the face mask will be prevented from selling in the market.
The District Environmental Health and Sanitation Officer, Mrs. Stella Kumadzro educated the market women on the reasons why they must wear the nose masks in all public. In attendance were the DCE, Hon Clifford Akoto, Assemblyman for Vane, Hon Rita Semanu Eglegbe, Assembly woman for Fume-Biakpa, the District Environmental Health and Sanitation Officer, District Information Officer and other staff of the Assembly.
The Ho West Assembly was established by the Legislative Instrument (LI) 2083 of 2012. It is the highest political and administrative authority in the District. The population of the District stood at 94,600 as shown in Table1 (2010 Population and Housing Census).
